  • Week 7: Photos from Mason Neck

This past week I visited Mason Neck, a state park off of the Potomac river. Instead of a regular post with text and a narrative this will more or less just be a collection photos with some captions, enjoy! As usual, all these photos are in the order I took them.   read more

  • Week 6: Grayson Highlands

Hello and welcome to my blog, but hey instead of reading this text look at the pony! Random interjected lines like that happen when I write blog posts at midnight. Needless, the ponies were graceful at Grayson Highlands which was where I visited this past week. My adventures at Grayson were a bit different then my others as I actually camped overnight due to the long drive. While still in Virginia, the park is a seven hour drive for me which made it impossible to be an ordinary day trip.   read more

  • Week 5: Star trails tutorial

This post will be structured more akin to a tutorial on how to take photos of star trails which was the task I set my self to this past week. For the past few months I’ve desired to photograph star trails and well the stars aligned and gave me the opportunity to photograph them. I will try to be a bit more abstract with this to make it applicable to any camera and even doable on a smart phone.   read more

  • Week 4: Time in Shenandoah

Hello, this past week I spent four days in Shenandoah with my family during which I explored and photographed mountain tops to waterfalls to sunsets. Our family headed out on Tuesday to the park. When we arrived at the lodge there was this nice spider web which I spent some time photographing. Soon after getting settled, I decided to hike the nearby trail – Stony Man. Stony Man, while fairly short, rewards with breathtaking views.   read more

  • Week 3: A tale of three trails

Hello again, this week I left my home state and adventured to almost heaven – West Virgina. I travailed three short trails, two at Blackwater Falls State Park and one in Monongahela National Forest. I started the day a bit earlier than usual, I woke up at 7 than was actually fast about getting on the road. As usual I brought my tripod for the waterfalls. As I drove into West Virgina, as obligatory, I played Country Roads when entering the state.   read more

  • Week 2: Another kind of waterfall

Welcome back to my blog! This week I visited Great Falls, a very different, supposedly greater, kind of waterfall compared to those that I visited last week. While perhaps they may not be greater in beauty — they are both beautiful — these falls are certainly a tinny bit larger. Last time I visited Great Falls was over four years ago when I was in the 8th grade and just after I got my first camera!   read more

  • Week 1: Hello and waterfalls

Hello and welcome to my blog. This will be a place where I document my adventure as I proceed into this gap year of mine. From sharing my aims, aspirations and goals to describing the places I travel, the photos taken and memories made. For now, their will not be a precise structure to these posts just the mere ramblings of my mind and my adventures of the past week.   read more
